A Photo Job Description for a Church Communications Director

I think this photo [at left] adequately describes the job of a church communications director. But this one is even better.

I often order my day like this … I ask myself: “Which fire is burning brightest, or will cause the most damage if I don’t put it out now?” And that’s the one I put out first. Then I’m off to the next fire, until at the end of the day everything’s smoldering like the photo here.

Disclaimer: This probably has more to do with my time management skills than anything. But the ability to put out fires [the copier jams on Friday, someone needs a flyer yesterday, deadlines, deadlines, deadlines] on short notice are a must.
