Why Church Communications Pro Exists … In the Words of a Pastor

By Cory Miller

I got a very encouraging email from a pastor today that really sums up why this site exists and want to share it with you.

With his permission, here’s part of what the email said:

The PowerPoint backgrounds downloaded easy and look great! Thank you so much for the free backgrounds. I am fairly new to your site and quickly becoming a huge fan! I greatly appreciate all the helpful communication information you offer – incredible!

That’s nice, but this is what made my day:

As a minister of a smaller congregation (90 active members) I do not have a support staff to help me keep up with all of the new technology so your website is a like having you as a virtual staff person. A blessing.

I decided to share this post because it absolutely sums up why I do what I do here … why I lose sleep thinking about posts (the Google Calendars post was written at 4 a.m. when I woke up with what I call ideas insomnia) … why I essentially do this for a couple of pennies an hour (if I were to count the hours in which I tweak this site, think about posts, write about posts, tweak the site some more, try to market it to broaden my exposure and impact, I would probably vomit) …

My goal for this site is to be that virtual communicators director of sorts for the thousands of churches that don’t have the money to hire a guy like me … And emails like this are greatly encouraging because they tell me I might just be doing something right.

This site and my posts are about providing tips, tutorials, strategies, and resources for pastors like Mike … so if you’re a “Mike” and would like to see a post on a particular subject you’re strugglign with, or would like a tutorial on, send me an email.

One more thing … if you’d like to help support this site, here are some services that I provide, or things you could do for me to say thanks. I’ve tried my best to make them affordable for churches while providing a valuable service …

NON-FREE WAYS TO SUPPORT THIS SITE

>> Church Website Hosting & Domain Name Registration As I’ve said before, you can buy this cheaper elsewhere, but guys like Micah who know this, have purchased things from me anyway … and I’m very appreciatative of it!

>> Build a Rockin Cool Church Website with meI’m offering a starting package at $795, which includes a year of hosting … see more details here.

>> Ask me for a quote on your church’s graphic design project like logos – I do offer those things. :-)

>> Buy a church marketing book from my bookstore — I’d highly recommend Don’t Make Me Think by Steve Krug for $25 … one of the best investments you’ll make if you’re looking at designing/redesigning a website.

FREE WAYS TO SUPPORT CCP

>> Email this site to a friend (especially another pastor) – I think everyone could do this … especially if you appreciate the content on this site. It doesn’t cost you anything, but you help me spread the word about what I’m doing here.

>> Link to me on your blog or website — Links count as votes to the search engines, so linking to me not only markets for me … it helps me get found in the search engines.

>> Sign up for my email newsletter — I try to pack it with the best posts and links … it also helps me gauge what posts and subjects are of most interest to you.

>> Consider writing a guest post for me – Send me an email if you have a post idea.

>> Contribute to the Christian Book Lounge by writing a book review – Read a good book lately? Go write a short review and use your Amazon Affiliate links to get credit for it.

OK, I’m done … you know, you really me thank me just by being here and reading and helping me know that what I’m doing is making a difference somehow, someway for the Kingdom.

Blessings to you!
