As far as I’m concerned MinistryCOM is THE church communications and marketing conference … although I confess, I’ve never been.

BUT … this is my number conference priority this year and I am going!

Terrell Sanders of Main Street has graciously put on this conference for a couple years now. He lives and works in Edmond/OKC and also is a deacon at the church next door to where I serve. And a couple weeks ago, we got to have lunch together.

I’ll say this … Terrell’s reputation proceeds him. And it’s a great reputation. He has the respect and admiration of a lot of “pros” in the church marketing world. So I was already biased, but he’s an unassuming, humble guy who does this as a public service to churches.

Back to MinistryCOM … there’s some awesome speakers on the platform, along with some excellent breakout sessions. But the biggest thing in my opinion is networking.

So if you’re planning on going, let me know in the comments to this post! Because I haven’t been before, I really don’t know what to expect as far as time … but I’d love to have a dinner with CCP readers or just anybody that wants to meet up.

One more thing … help get the word out about MinistryCOM. Consider a link to the main site, send an email to a colleague or friend who needs to go, etc. In fact, Terrell gave me a badge, so steal the one on this post (upload to your own site though) and post it.

OK, I’m getting more and more swamped with my full-time gig and many side projects I’m juggling … SO, I’m making a plea today for guest writers to CCP.

If you’re just beginning to blog and want some exposure, this could be a good way to help you do that. Guest writers get a link and one-sentence bio at the bottom of their posts/stories.

There’s no financial incentive here … other than helping churches use marketing practices and technology for ministry.

I want to give a big holler out to James Dalman of the Branding Shed.

James and I have had coffee on a couple of occasions and talked “church marketing” and branding and almost everything in between. He’s been gracious enough to link to me on his blogs and promote my work and I want to do the same … because his work rocks. Read More→

Based on the great results I got from my first public release WordPress theme, a 2 column simplistic layout, which I called Rockin Blue, I just released a 3 column version of it today with some tweaks that I hope will make it an even better theme.

Download the theme here.
Demo it here.

Also, if you don’t know it, I’m doing custom WordPress themes. Contact me for a quote for your personal blog or church website.
