I just got through blogging about this on my website, but I got to see a tornado in the making today as a funnel cloud passed by my house!  It was awesome and exciting – yet scary to know that it came so fast that we were never in a tornado warning.  The tornado touched down a couple miles from here and I think it hit close to the church we used to attend many years ago.  Well, I gotta get back to the news.  Freakish as it sounds, many people in Oklahoma are mesmerized with watching clouds that can reduce big homes into tiny splinters in a fraction of a second.

Calling for Guest Writers

Posted by: James Dalman | Comments (2)

Church Communications Pro is looking for guest writers and contributors.  I know there are many talented and gifted people serving in churches or ministries who have valuable advice and insights to share – and I would love for our readers to get more quality information that can help them in their ministries.

Here are some of the subjects and topics that I am specifically looking to develop:

  • Worship Media: Choosing the right projector, what is the best presentation software, how a church leverage technology with a small budget, etc.
  • Website : This stuff moves so fast I can’t keep up with it all!  What  Content Management Systems are the best or easiest to use, thoughts on design and navigation, what does a church really need on it’s website – are a few ideas I am looking to address.
  • Technology: Stuff a church must have or can forget about, gadgets or software that really simplifies our lives, computer specs we should consider before buying one, etc.
  • Creativity: Churches should be creative!  What can we do to utilize the creative talents of the people in our church?

Of course you can look through our topic list and see what other items we have posted about over the years and contribute on anything that helps build The Church or that may cause us to rethink the way we do things.

If you are interested, please use the submission form and provide your contact information along with the topics you would like to write about.  I’ll contact you via e-mail to discuss the next steps.

Please note:  Church Communications Pro is not independently wealthy so we can’t pay for article submissions or contributions at this time, but we can plug you and give you the opportunity to hone your skills and help many people in the trenches. We also reserve the right to accept and reject posts depending on content, alignment with the CCP vision and values, and whether you are a Barry Manilow fan or not.

Blogging Ministries

Posted by: James Dalman | Comments (18)

I am curious.  Do any of our readers or your churches use blogging as a way to build relationships with people in your community or for ministry type purposes?  How are you using it and has it been effective?  What I am looking for are blogs that teach about Scripture, communicate with unchurched people in a loving way, and share insights into following Christ…blogs whose obvious focus is on Jesus and not necessarily religion, politics, or book promotions.

If you know of some, would you please share their link or website address?  I am looking for some great resources to pass along and also doing some “loose” research on the effectiveness of ministry blogs.  Thanks!
