A Great Tool for Your Church and the iPhone.

I got an e-mail from the crew at AppChurch.com the other day about their new app for the iPhone.
While WordPress has an iPhone plug-in for websites that use WP as a CMS platform, I think AppChurch would be an awesome tool if your church uses another CMS system. Both Mars Hills and LifeChurch.tv have created and used this type of technology (I love both) with great success and I really feel it would be beneficial for you to check out for your church as well. The AppChurch is a free download from the iTunes store though you do have to pay a monthly fee if you want your church logo, service times, map, events, and sermons to be included for your visitors to see … but at $7 per month for one website, I think this is a small investment if people visit your church because of it.

Rick Warren Book Cover Design Contest
Posted by: | CommentsMy good friend Michael Buckingham wrote an interesting post and open letter to Rick Warren about his latest book design contest for designers. By the responses in comments, I would say that Michael has hit a nerve! I dig his passion and can see a valid point being a designer myself, but I also see the other side of the coin and the opportunity for design recognition.

Product Review: Mars Hill Church iPhone App
Posted by: | CommentsMars Hill Church launched their iPhone / iPod touch app on August 11th, 2009 and I’ve been extremely impressed with their application which includes their blog, music from a variety of their bands, the ability to find one of their many locations, give online, and of course, their excellent sermon series. The reason I really dig it is that I no longer have to worry about downloading their podcasts into iTunes and then onto my iPod – I can get the latest right there from my phone. The only thing I’d like to see incorporated into the future is a Bible app but then I guess that’s what YouVersion from LifeChurch.tv is for, which is another great app for the iPhone! Check both of them out.

Posted by: | CommentsTonight we visited the LifeChurch.tv OKC Campus and had the privilege of seeing Christine Cain from Hillsong Church speak on the current series “Stop Acting Like a Christian: Be One.” Christine was amazing in her message and really laid out some great points. I couldn’t do any justice giving you the cliff notes so why not check it out at LifeChurch.tv? I don’t think they have the message uploaded yet, but you won’t regret waiting for it.
