How to Put a Video on a Church Website in 4 Easy Steps

Here’s the easiest way I know how to put short videos — like a sermon series promo trailer or other promotional clip — on your church’s website.

Brace yourself because it’s incredibly simple … and because of its utter simplicity, you may think: “I knew that.”

Here are the four super easy steps to putting a video on your church website:

1. Signup for a free YouTube accoun t.

2. Upload your video.

3. Copy and paste the embed code into a page on your church website.

4. Done, finished, viola!

The tradeoff for using YouTube’s bandwidth and storage space is you are limited to 10 minutes clips, so it’s not a solution for longer clips, like sermon videos.

Here’s a great video Web site geared toward sermon and teaching illustrations called Blue Fish.

Their motto is “Creating Videos to Help You Teach.”

What really impressed me is the price: $1.99. I’ve been surfing around the site the past two days, previewing some of their videos, and I’m impressed by what I’ve seen.

And I had a great conversation with Justin Forman, Blue Fish’s marketing director, who is a CCP reader and email subscriber (how I found out about his site, actually).

Although you can preview ALL of the videos right on Blue Fish’s site, Justin has graciously offered ONE FREE VIDEO DOWNLOAD to CCP readers.

Find a video you want and add it to your cart.

According to Justin, that code is good for one free downloadable clip per person at Blue Fish. That means you can pass that code along to any other friends, teachers or staff who love to use video illustrations.
